I don't have anyone going back to school this year, YEA!!
I did however do some shopping for items for a church project.
They were easy items that only took 2 stops to procure.
However in doing the shopping memories, not of the good kind, came flooding back to me.
1. Teachers who gave out the list of the 27 "must have by tomorrow" items on the first day of school. At one point I had 3 children to shop for. Seriously? If you have been teaching for more than a year I bet you know exactly what you want each student to bring (and not bring). I assume if you can control 25-30 kids in a classroom you must be organized enough to have a list ready ahead of time.
2. Teachers who have an item on their list that can only be purchased at one store in town. Said store usually is in an obscure part of town, has only 3 parking spots and is on a dead end street. LRHS biology teachers you know who you are!
3. Teachers who INSIST on a certain type of item. Say like a 24 pack (not 12 or 18) of Crayola colored pencils (no other brand will do). The stores that did have these prior to the first day of class are now out of them.
4. Teachers who then don't use the items they insisted the students buy (at full price because that store is the only one that still had them in stock) UNTIL MAY!
5. Teachers who in insist on an odd number of something. Like 13 tabbed dividers when the items come in a package of 12.
I feel a little better. I need a box of 64 Crayola Crayons, NIB. You know what I mean.
